This test is a graduation requirement, and students must earn a 60% or higher in order to receive credit on this test. Students who do no pass on their first attempt will have three more opportunities to take the test; however, even if a student passes on their retake, the highest grade they can earn in the grade book is a 60%. American HeroesWe'll begin our unit on the Industrial Revolution, which will last until the end of the quarter. US HistoryConstitution retakes for the junior class are on-going. The second round of retakes are scheduled for Wednesday, September 21 after school. Following this test, there will only be one more opportunity to retake and pass the test. Our first textbook unit has begun with Chapter 8, which will see the US move from a regional power to a world power following the Spanish-American War. World HistoryWH just concluded a mini-unit on the Black Death, which set the stage for the Renaissance, the topic of our first chapter. We are currently planning on testing on this chapter on Tuesday, October 4. GeographyGeography A has been moving quickly through the first four chapters. We will likely be testing on Chapter 3 next Friday, September 23. GovernmentGovernment recently finished presentations on the presidential candidates and the parties. Their next unit will look at the origins of government. Current EventsCE finished an analysis of bias in media and will now begin a research project of the five major political parties and their positions on various issues.
