Geography: We have begun Chapter 12 on the cultural geography of Europe. Soon, we'll do a topical unit: Nations in the News.
Civics: Continuing our unit on the judicial branch. American Heroes: Studying our final unit on the Civil Rights Movement. World History: Chapter 14 test on Tuesday, May 1. We'll then watch the movie The Last Battalion to close out the unit. US History: Our final unit will be on the war in Vietnam, and its role in shaping US culture. Current Events: Semester notebooks are due this week, and we have our Space X Quiz on Monday. Government: Finishing Chapter on the presidency and watching All the President's Men. Final exams reviews will be handed out on Tuesday. Economics: Finishing our unit on financial markets and then beginning to prepare for finals. Geography: We will test on human/cultural geography of Latin America on Monday, April 23. Our next unit will focus on the human/cultural geography of Europe, with a test planned for May 3.
Civics: We are learning how to legislate and how a bill becomes a law. Our final unit of the semester will be the judicial branch. American Heroes: We are wrapping up the series "Heroes of the World Wars" and testing. Our next and final unit of study will be the Civil Rights movement. World History: This week will be spent covering Sections 4 and 5 of Chapter 14, focusing on the winning of the war and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. We will likely be testing Chapter 14 on May 1. US History: We will finish Chapter 18/19 on the 1960's, focusing on the Kennedy/Johnson administrations and the Civil Rights movement. As a close-out activity of our study of the 60's, the space race, the civil rights and women's rights movement, we will be watching HIDDEN FIGURES. Our next unit will focus on Vietnam. Current Events: Our current unit is a study of the political and moral implications of modern drone warfare. Government: Our final unit is a study of the presidency. Economics: We are wrapping up our study of labor unions. Next, we will dive into studying the 401K markets. Geography: We are currently studying the human/cultural geography of Latin America as part of Unit 4: Latin America. We will be testing for this unit on Friday, April 20.
Civics: Next week, we'll begin looking at the legislative branch of the US government. Our final unit of the semester will be the judicial branch. American Heroes: Currently, we are going through the series "Heroes of the World Wars." Our next and final unit of study will be the Civil Rights movement. World History: We are currently working on our essay on the causes of the Great War. We will spend much of next week finishing this before moving on to examine the technology and techniques that made WWI so gruesome. We will likely be testing Chapter 14 on May 1. US History: We have just begun our combined unit of Chapter 18/19 on the 1960's, focusing on the Kennedy/Johnson administrations and the Civil Rights movement. We will likely be testing on April 25/26. Current Events: Our students are giving independent news presentations on various hot topics, including school safety, the Syrian crisis, and concussions in high school athletics. Government: We are looking at federalism and how it functions. Economics: Currently, we are studying labor unions and their role in the economy. |
