Here are some of the topics/activities that we'll cover this week.
Civics
On October 10, we'll be taking the state-required US Constitution test. We will be spending our class time preparing for this test. American Heroes Baldwin: French & Indian War/Frontier Lemond: Frontiersman/Frontier Geography We will be wrapping up Chapter 4 and taking the test. World History We will be finishing our lesson on the Reformation and will begin Section 4, on the application of the Reformation in England. US History We'll be continuing Chapter 9 on the Progressive Presidents. Sociology Next week, we'll begin Chapter 3 on culture. With this chapter, we'll begin to do more readings and class discussions. Military History We'll be studying the ancient Greeks, with a focus on Sparta. Current Events Our Free Speech/Kaepernick assignment is due. Then, we'll begin our discussion of the problem of recycling lithium ion batteries.

Civics We are wrapping up Unit one Origins of Government and moving into the US Constitution Unit next week.

Baldwin: Jamestown/ Pocahontas Lemond: John Rolfe, John Winthrop and the Colonization of America Geography Beginning new unit on demography (Chapter 4), which will take us at least two weeks to complete. World History Begin Chapter 1 on the Renaissance/Reformation This chapter will likely conclude at the end of this month. US History We will be wrapping our Chapter 8 on the roots of US global power, the Spanish-American War, and imperialism. Sociology We'll start our second chapter on sociological research methods, which will take us at least two weeks. After the Chapter 2 test, we will also take our Unit 1 test. Military History Great military tacticians Sun Tzu and Clausewitz Current Events We are starting our Fake News Unit: What is fake news? How does it spread. Why do people create fake news? Does fake news impact politics and elections? |
