CivicsThe Illinois Constitution test will be next week on Friday, October 14. Students have to earn a 70% or better to pass the test. American HeroesWe'll finish our unit on the Industrial Revolution, and then we'll move on to the Great Depression and WWII. US HistoryWe have begun Chapter 9 this past week. We'll have three small section quizzes next week, and we'll be looking to test on or around October 19/20. We'll also be trying to include some more SAT essay prep. World HistoryChapter 3 will take us into the first global age with the conquest of the Americas and the beginning of the African slave trade. GeographyGeography is going to be testing Chapter 4 next Friday, October 14. We'll then take a week to discuss some geographic theories of Professor Jared Diamond and the effects of geography upon culture. We'll begin Chapter 5 before the end of the month, during which we'll be working to learn the 50 US states. Government & Current EventsThese classes merged this past week to watch and discuss the Presidential Debate, which was an activity designed to give these students a taste of college.
